Vitamin A (retinoate) features effects that suppress turnover (cycle of replacement of old skin by new skin) deterioration, and reduce phenomena such as dermal thickening, fine wrinkles, blemishes and dry skin. On the other hand, retinoate is unstable when exposed to light and is also said to be slightly irritating to the skin. To remedy this problem, tocopheryl retinoate, an outstandingly stable substance free of irritability, has been developed.
